I promise, it is coming!

I know that it has been a while since starting this page. However, I am having difficulty finding the time to not only be a Stampin’ Up! Demo, booking demonstrations, the holidays, making cards and videos and the “never-ending” redesign of my studio. Every time I think I can go in and use the room, someone comes in to put up shelves, rewire the sockets or are running Cat 5 cable from a wiring closet in the attic through the wall and into a ethernet drop where, I am told, I can plug my desktop, printer, etc.
So, underneath all of the plaster dust and plastic sheeting is the boxes of supplies and tools I need to create.
I have a large order coming in soon from Stampin’ Up! of cardstock to replenish my dwindling supply, ink refills of the 2012-2014 In-Color Collection that will be leaving us next year to be replaced by 5 new colors that will run from 2014 to 2016. Once the those 2014 In-Colors are retired, there will be a run on the ink refills. I wanted to make sure I got mine early! I love Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit and Midnight Muse.
Then there is the order I am dying to get my hands on. As a Stampin’ Up! Demo, you get the chance to pre-order items from future campaigns and catalogs. This pre-order enables you to make up your projects in advance of the sales to show at your demonstrations.
My pre-order is for 2014’s Occasion’s Catalog that will run from Jan 1 through June 30th 2014 and Sale-a-Bration which will run from Jan 1 through March 30th 2014. So I am excited to get this order…not that I have ANY idea where I will put it!
Fortunately, the redesign is supposed to be finished on Wednesday, Dec 5th. Hooray! I’ll need another day or two to put everything into its new place. What makes it more difficult for me is I have 2 Labradors who think the middle of the studio floor is a great place to take a nap!
They still have to put the rack above my work table to put the video camera.
My main desire for the studio is to centralize most of my supplies near to the level of my reach while sitting in my work chair at my work desk. Nothing is more tiring than doing the “Whack-a-Mole”!
Whack-a-Mole is a carnival game where these moles pop up and you have to whack them in the head with a mallet before they pop back down their holes. In my case, it is my constant popping up out of my chair to reach the ink pads (shelf above the desk), get the cardstock (across the room behind me), reach the dies (extreme left of the room), etc. Naturally, I will have other areas for different uses. The painting/book binding with the heat resistant surface (for ironing) will be away from my card area as will the beading/soldering/glass area, a small area to put up the photo cube to take pictures.
The really cool thing is, I got an early Christmas present from my hubby for my office and that is a 27″ LED flat screen TV w/built in DVD player! YAY! Personally speaking, I like my XM-radio playing while I work, but it is even better to have a favorite movie playing! Thanks, Honey!! The hardest part is trying to find a flat wall mount for the TV, but until then, it sits to the right of my desk. Woohoo!
So, you see, a LOT has been going on but some will soon be ending. I normally do not make new year resolutions (I hate failing within the first days of a new year, LOL!) but for 2014, my resolution is to get this or a Stampin’ Up! DBWS page up and working with new cards, techniques and tutorials. Keep your fingers crossed!
